Cloud Nine

Maybe it’s because the sun peaked thru the window this morning

and I had already done the dishes late last night

yesterday I thought that today’s work would bore me

strangely enough it has never felt so right

Maybe it’s because the birds all sing this morning

And the happy smell of coffee has eased my mind

Yesterday I couldn’t do anything but worry

Now it’s like I’ve lost that weight since late last night

Today I see a blue sky

today I’m on cloud nine

today I’m just a happy soul

who’s in the mood to have a ball

today this lucky bird sings

today this bird is on the wing

today I dress in happy smiles

I’m in the mood to go in style

Maybe it’s because I’ve dreamed of love and glory

That I have these happy pictures on my mind

Yesterday I thought that love’s all tough and stormy

Now it’s like I have turned that page of my life

We can make the sun shine thru the rain

Give it all and celebrate

now put on a happy face and get up,

live the simple life for a day
